Your Veterinarian for Fayetteville and all of NWA
You know that feeling when your dog greets you at the door with pure joy, or when your cat curls up on your lap after a long day? That’s the magic we work to protect every single day. Dr. Martin Turner DVM opened our veterinary clinic in Fayetteville, AR, in 1998 because he understood something simple yet profound: pets aren’t just animals, they’re family members, and they deserve the very best care. At Cornerstone Animal Hospital, we’ve spent over 25 years getting to know the four-legged personalities that make Fayetteville families whole. Whether your furry friend needs a routine wellness exam or you’re facing a scary health scare, we’re here to listen, understand, and provide the kind of veterinary care that honors the incredible bond you share with your pet.
Why Choose Us
Your pet holds a piece of your heart, and choosing their healthcare team is one of the most important decisions you’ll make. Here’s what makes our veterinary clinic in Fayetteville, AR, different.
Meet the Doctor
When it comes to your family’s furry friends, Dr. Martin Turner DVM provides the high standard of care you expect. He grew up on a working farm in Hardy, Arkansas, where he learned firsthand about the deep connections between people and animals. His educational journey took him through Arkansas State University, New Mexico State University, and finally to Tuskegee University, where he earned his veterinary degree and won awards in endocrinology and surgery. But what his diplomas don’t show is: Dr. Turner genuinely loves what he does, and it shows in every interaction with pets and their families. He and his wife, Lisa, raised four children on their farm west of Fayetteville and recently welcomed a puppy named Hoot into their lives. When you meet Dr. Turner in our veterinary clinic in Fayetteville, AR, you’ll quickly understand why families trust him with their most precious companions.

General Dentistry
Your pet’s smile deserves the same attention you give your own teeth, and general dentistry is how we keep those pearly whites healthy and pain-free. Bad breath isn’t just unpleasant – it’s often the first sign of dental disease that can sneak into your pet’s bloodstream and affect their heart, liver, and kidneys. We believe every pet should feel comfortable eating their favorite treats without wincing from tooth pain.
We make dental care as stress-free as possible by using gentle techniques and keeping your pet cozy throughout the entire process. Our thorough cleaning includes getting into all those hard-to-reach spots where bacteria love to hide, plus we take detailed X-rays to catch problems before they become painful emergencies. At Cornerstone Animal Hospital, our veterinary clinic in Fayetteville, AR, treats dental health as seriously as we treat the rest of your pet’s wellbeing because a healthy mouth leads to a happier pet.
Sick Animals
That worried feeling when your pet isn’t acting like themselves is something every pet parent knows all too well. We know that changes in your pet’s eating habits, energy levels, or bathroom routines can signal something serious that needs immediate attention. Our goal is to help sick animals feel comfortable again while giving you peace of mind about their recovery.
At Cornerstone Animal Hospital, we start every examination by listening carefully to your observations because you know your pet better than anyone else. We use gentle diagnostic techniques to identify what’s making your furry friend uncomfortable, then create treatment plans that fit both your pet’s needs and your family’s situation. Our veterinary clinic team stays in close contact throughout your pet’s healing journey to make sure they’re getting back to their happy, playful selves.
Annual Vaccines
Think of annual vaccines as your pet’s invisible shield against diseases that could steal away their playful spirit and years of companionship. These simple injections protect your furry family member from serious illnesses like rabies, distemper, and parvovirus that can be devastating without proper prevention. We customize vaccination schedules based on your pet’s age, lifestyle, and individual health needs rather than using a one-size-fits-all approach.
We make vaccine appointments comfortable and quick because we know some pets get nervous about vet visits. Our team explains exactly which vaccines your pet needs and why, so you feel confident about the protection you’re providing. Cornerstone Animal Hospital believes prevention is always better than treatment, and our veterinary clinic makes it easy to keep your pet’s immunity strong with convenient scheduling and gentle care.

FAQs
How do you help with pet nutrition and diet choices?
We know how confusing pet food aisles can be with hundreds of options and conflicting advice everywhere you look. Dr. Turner takes time to understand your pet’s specific needs – their age, activity level, health conditions, and even their picky eating habits – before recommending nutrition plans that actually work for your family. Our veterinary clinic has prescription diets for pets with special medical needs and can guide you through ingredient labels to find the best food within your budget. Most importantly, we help you navigate nutrition changes gradually so your pet’s digestive system stays happy.
How do you handle nervous or anxious pets during visits?
We completely understand that some pets find veterinary visits stressful, and we’ve developed gentle techniques to help them feel more comfortable. Our exam rooms are designed to be calming spaces, and we always move at your pet’s pace rather than rushing through appointments. Many of our anxious patients actually start looking forward to veterinary clinic visits once they realize we’re the people who give great belly rubs and have really good treats.
What's your philosophy on preventative wellness care?
We believe the best veterinary medicine happens before your pet gets sick. Our wellness exams focus on catching small changes before they become big problems, and we tailor our preventative care recommendations to your pet’s age, lifestyle, and individual risk factors. Think of our veterinary clinic as your pet’s personal health team – we’re here to help them live their longest, healthiest, happiest life possible.
How do you support families during difficult health decisions?
Making medical decisions for a beloved pet can feel overwhelming, especially when you’re dealing with serious diagnoses or end-of-life care. We take as much time as you need to understand all your options, explain what each choice means for your pet’s quality of life, and support whatever decision feels right for your family. In our veterinary clinic, there’s no judgment – only compassionate guidance and honest information to help you choose what’s best for your situation.
Why should I consider microchipping my pet?
Microchipping is one of the best investments you can make in your pet’s safety, and the process takes just seconds with minimal discomfort. If your pet ever gets lost, a microchip gives them the best chance of finding their way home to you, even if their collar falls off or gets removed. Our veterinary clinic has seen countless happy reunions happen because a lost pet had a microchip with current contact information. The chip itself is about the size of a grain of rice and provides permanent identification that lasts your pet’s entire lifetime.
